Best Free Virtual Tour Software in 2026 (Honest Comparison)

The most genuinely free options are Mirame360 (50 media / 10GB, no time limit, hosts photo and video), Kuula's free tier (100 images/month, no hotspots or audio), and Roundme's free tier (15 panoramas/week, paid add-ons per tour). Matterport's free tier is limited to a single active space and goes offline if you don't upgrade.

What "free" actually means for each one

Mirame360: 50 media items and 10GB of storage, no monthly upload cap, no time limit on the free tier, and it hosts both 360° photos and video. No feature is locked behind a paywall — free accounts get the same processing and embedding as paid ones exist today, because there currently is no paid tier.

Kuula: the free "Basic" account genuinely lets you build complete tours, but two specific features are gated: hotspots you add are only visible to you, not to visitors, and audio can't be uploaded at all, until you upgrade to PRO. Uploads are capped at 100 images/month (25 per batch). Every link and embed carries the Kuula logo.

Roundme: 15 panorama uploads per week on the free tier, with extra features (custom map, privacy/whitelist, ad-free embed) sold as one-time per-tour add-ons rather than a flat subscription.

Matterport: the free tier is the most restrictive of the four — only one active space at a time, and if you don't upgrade, previously published tours can go offline. It's built around 3D dollhouse scans, not photo/video hosting, so it's solving a different problem than the other three.

Honest caveat

We build Mirame360, so treat our own row with appropriate skepticism — we've linked every claim above to the vendor's own page so you can verify it yourself rather than take our word for it. Kuula and Roundme are both solid, real products; if you specifically need hotspots or audio narration and don't mind a modest monthly fee, Kuula's PRO tier is a reasonable next step.

Methodology

Feature/limit claims were checked directly against each vendor's own pages as of 2026-08: Mirame360's FAQ, Kuula's free account documentation and pricing page, and third-party 2026 pricing summaries for Roundme (Roundme does not publish a single consolidated pricing page at the time of writing). We did not create test accounts on every competing platform — this is a documentation-based comparison, not hands-on testing of all four products.

FAQ

Is there a virtual tour tool that's free forever, not just a trial? Yes — Mirame360, Kuula's Basic tier, and Roundme's free tier are all standing free plans, not time-limited trials. Matterport's free tier exists but is limited to one active space.

Which free tier supports 360° video, not just photos? Mirame360 is the only one of these four that hosts and embeds 360° video on its free tier; Kuula, Roundme, and Matterport are photo/scan-focused.

Which free tier has no vendor branding on embeds? Mirame360's embeds carry no branding requirement. Kuula's free tier adds the Kuula logo to every link and embed.
